Knoll is classic in innovation.

Its models are concepts which stand the test of time and they had their place in spaces 75 years ago and have it in contemporary spaces too.

The collection is a ‘warehouse of furniture’ for the public which uncompromisingly reflects the mutual conception of form and functionality. Knoll defines the presence and sense of a real home: the experience of distinctive comfort in clear, transparent spaces.

Besides consumer line, Knoll is one of the major players in modern office interior spaces in the world: they are able to reproduce the calm, balanced atmosphere of a home study in the workspaces, where the individual not only prepares but also enjoy her work.

The factory, established in 1938, now has a recognized leading position in design all over the world.

The motto of the company is ‘good design is good business’. Its classic modernist or extravagant contemporary consumer furniture are constantly present and successful on the market. This also reflected in having more than 40 pieces of their collection as part of the New York design museum collection too.

The cooperation with the acclaimed contemporary architects – Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Eero Saarinen, Harry Bertoia, Warren Platner, Frank Gehry – was an important milestone in the history of the company, whose works resulted in many striking models in the 20th century.

A well-known example: Mies van der Rohe created the Barcelona chair in 1929 which was integral part of German pavilion organized in Barcelona. It is the synthesis of old and new: home comfort function mixed with vibrant novelty. Eight decades later it is one of the most well-known classic design icons.

Knoll’s pioneer role is determining, as it was in the past, it is in the present too. Current portfolio is broadened with new elements in every year, and they are still open for present-day talents like Maya Lin, Ross Lovegrove, Peter Shelton vagy Lee Mindel.
